Coffee and Book

“Deprive a man of his life-lie and you rob him of his happiness”. (‘Wild Duck’ by Henrik Ibsen, 1828 — 1906)

Another cup of coffee in Bangkok. The truth is, I hate the pictures I take on a daily basis, and therefore I do not consider them worthy in any way. They were to become a documentation only… a lousy one too.

So yeah, I was born to become the worst photographer.

The very beginning of the coffee diary

Despite having faces&words, which has been a burden since my attitude towards people changed, I decided to share my coffee diary pictures for a while. Not that I have a particular reason or goal, but that’s what I love the most at the moment: coffee, books and stumbling through WordPress blogs. Combine all — that’s how I got my coffee diary idea.

faces&words: the painter

Recently I was looking through the pictures on my camera and found this one I took for faces&words project. Girl was drawing something in her album waiting for the boarding in Tel Aviv airport when I took this picture.

They say things with immigrants are not working good in Tel Aviv. They say they are cockroaches. They say immigrants kill and rape. To see how things really work in so-called ghetto between old and new bus stations we decided to break “number one tourist rule in Tel Aviv” and take a walk there. At night.

I am facinated by the sea. Every salty drop, every wave and splash – it all excites me. Cool evening breeze and winter storms – what could be better than that seaweed smell in your nostrils?

The sea is different every day, it can be calm, but you feel the unlimited power in every wave that breaks on your chest. The idea I get especially excited about is that no one knows what’s under tha water. Scientists explored a lesser part of it, so there is still a room for dreamers to guess what’s going on down there.

Recently I’ve finished reading one of the greates book of my entire life –  “The sea, the sea” by Iris Murdoch. Honestly, I am deeply impressed not by of the plot itself, but mostly by incredible description of the sea. We can only wonder what does every single wave bring ashore. No matter what happens with us…

Impartial noon patterns the sea in flame —
That sea forever starting and re-starting. (Paul Valery)

Here are some photos I took today. It was hot during the past few days, so lots of plants outside were dying from the drought.
